Someone asked to see what my plumeria looked like after taking cuttings, but I don't remember the thread or who asked the question. We have had days of pretty much constant rain and it was misting when I finally went out and took some pictures a few minutes ago. What you see are not even 50% of the plants I have that have taken cuttings from, and a couple of the pictures here are plants that have had several cuttings taken over numerous years, you might say "cuttings of cuttings of cuttings". When I sell a cutting or take a cutting for myself, I like large, plump cuttings. You will see "stubs" that are 1.5 - 2" thick, and those stubs have actually shrunk about 25% after taking the cutting(s). Many of the cut ends have growth that is several feet tall and some with just beginning new growth. Some cut stems have had a single new tip emerge, but by far, most cut stems have multiple new tips. One of my cut stems has seven new tips growing adjacent to that single cut stem. I did not get a picture of that one since it would have to be moved and the weather is still just terrible here. I tried to get not only the cut surface(s) but also some of the full plant just so you can see how healthy these plants are. You'll see a bit of yellowing of some leaves, a sign that dormancy is at hand.
Needless to say, I am not shy about taking cuttings. I know these pictures are not the best (due to the bad conditions) but I hope they help show that my plants are not "suffering" after being cut.
