You and I are/were in the same boat, Melissa. I fought the upkeep on a three-story house for 15 years, often putting a 24' ladder in the bed of my pickup truck to be able to get to the highest point Sticking tongue out That, a bad back, and hips going south, and my wife finally said "enough". We bought a new single-story house 5 years ago and now the tallest ladder is 12' and is used mainly to get to my orchid tree-shelves during the spring and summer months. We do have an ample backyard, one large enough for the two greenhouses, my equipment shed, and a sizable raised garden. I don't miss being 25+ feet off the ground. Thumbs down

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
