Good luck. Scale is a tough one to kill. My experience with it on many different types of plants is it is one tough cookie.
For ornamentals and non-edibles, I start with insecticidal soap. When that doesn't work, move to Neem oil. When that doesn't work, move to bigger guns. Scale has killed far too many of my expensive plants.
