(lost my first post - having to redo - darn !)
Hubby bought me a 2nd Harbor Freight 6 x 8 GH and has assembled it and has ordered some parts to build a walk thru between the two units. Not sure how that will be done - I'm the "breaker", he's the "fixer". As long as it works I'm happy. All of my plants are in GH1 for now, until the joining is finished.
My plan is to use the new GH2 as a colder unit -- for spinach, lettuce, etc. and keep GH1 warmer. Will have a roll down made out of the pool cover to partially block the walk-thru and keep most of the heat in GH1 (when I'm running a heater). One long 8' wall will be permanent screening (with ability to pop wall panels back in on top of screen). Got all of the plants "refurbished" and into GH1 today, while it's warm. Hopefully my little seedlings will do better this year and I'll end up with some spinach and lettuce (maybe even some radishes). Last winter I did very poorly, and this summer my best crops were peppers - lots of jalapenos, bell peppers and Anaheim -- not many tomatoes. Lots of herbs. I guess I have a LOT of learning to do.
You might ask why we didn't just join the units end for end (would have been SO much easier. Well, there's a tree that's probably 75-80 years old there and it hangs over the path. We suspect it will fall in the near future - so GH2 would have been right in its path.
