Ditto! I've never used bungees for my plants, but we use them for holding things down in our utility trailer, and have also had the "perfect-looking" black rubber ones snap unexpectedly.

And whatever anyone is doing with bungee cords -- please be careful! A friend had one snap while he was pulling on it, and the end flew back and hit him in the eye, causing significant damage. Blinking
