I thought about Licuala ssp. also, Alice. I used to have one with a perfectly round leaf, 'grandis' I think, but lost it to the cold. They are sensitive even in south Florida. Fred struggles with them in Naples. I'll have to sift through some images of them to see if I can find this big leafed fellow.
