I love "Francis of Assisi". I ordered it about 6 years ago just from the pictures and when it bloomed, it was the most beautiful saturated rosy red with hints of magenta - no muddiness in the color of this flower. It isn't a formal flower but that color will knock your socks off. It rebloomed easily for about 3 years, didn't make the biggest clump but the oaks that my daylilies were planted under to protect them from the July and August Florida sun kind of interfered. My plans are to build a new bed and get all of my daylilies out of there where the shade is an inhibiting factor for them. I thought oaks grew slowly - boy, was I wrong. Build a bed of mushroom compost, pine mulch, horse compost and Florida sandy loam around those trees roots and boy, have they taken off. I'll be planting things under there that will be happy for that much shade. We have gotten an extendable pole saw and I put my husband in the front-end loader of our tractor and let him trim out some of the branches.
