Background history:

'Lady Neva' is a semi-evergreen diploid created by Neva Bess Waller Alexander (introduced and registered in 1970 by Rowena Moody, after her death on January 25, 1969 in Galveston, Texas). In 1966, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Houston, TX Society, Charter Members were asked to write brief letters for the Yearbook. Neva Alexander wrote: "The daylily has meant many things to me and three words sum up the most important: Friends, Happiness, and Hope."

More can be read about Neva Alexander at this Historical Daylily Robin website (be sure to scroll down to read all of the information): http://historical-daylily.weeb...

Lady Neva is an early to mid-season bloomer with possible rebloom. It has earned the following AHS awards: Honorable Mention: 2003 and Award of Merit: 2006. It shows a rust resistance rating of 1.3. It is pod and pollen fertile with 23 registered children: http://garden.org/plants/paren...
