I've had mixed results with these in that a few have just flounder and ultimately failed. A cultural failing most likely. I have one healthy plant and plan to take plugs of it to start more. It, like all the S. officinalis are very lovely and usfull in a border or a turkey. In this photo it is planted with Salvia 'Tricolor' and 'Purpurea'. None of these three have bloomed for me. All of these were planted at the same time and as you can see, S. 'purpurea' grows much more vigerously than the other two. Something to consider when planting these together. I have a couple of S. 'Tricolor' that are overwhelmed. I'll be planting S.'Icterina in many spots as filler down in front. I tip my hat to you.
