I found this Noid in a small garden of an acquaintance on the island. It looked small and pathetic but I gave it a chance.

Three years later it is a powerhouse clump repeatedly churning out tall scapes that bud build. These are usually three-branched. It is diploid and pod and pollen fertile.

The scapes are up to 43" (110mm) and the blooms 5" (12.5mm). It is an older-styled bloom: a single, orange self with curly edging that is sometimes reddish. I am unsure if I should call it green or yellow throated. It is rust resistant.

It begins blooming here in September, which is the beginning of spring, and continues reblooming to February, late summer.

Overall, the cultivar is a vigorous, bright and colourful performer, that was probably hybridised by someone who knew what they were doing, and which was most likely sold widely last century.

What do you think it is?

The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.
