plenty of rain, plenty of snow, and unfortunately for me...plenty of hot summer days 
We did do a lot of simplifying when we moved this last time though. Got rid of a lot of stuff (including kids ) and downsized to 1100 sq ft. My garden area shrank significantly, but it is so easy to take care of it all now!
