Worm Composting (Vermicomposting)
by Tarrant Area Food Bank
Do you live in a space that won't allow outdoor composting bins? Are you already an expert in traditional composting and want a new challenge? Come check out this free worm composting class to learn how to create a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer with the help of eco-friendly earthworms!
Becca Knutson, TAFB's Community Garden Coordinator will guide the class through the steps of putting together a small, simple vermicomposting system that can be stored inside the home.
Registered workshop participants will be provided with:
*One 10-gallon (or smaller) storage bin with tight-fitting lid

Workshop participants may bring:
*One sandwich bag of fruit/vegetable kitchen scraps, frozen or fresh (no citrus)
*Several sheets of newspaper
The materials above will be enough to make one vermicomposting system. Space for this workshop is limited. Be sure to reserve your spot today!
