Add some spice to your life in the best time of the year!
Fall is a wonderful time to begin planting new garden spaces, and everyone should be growing some herbs.
Beginners will learn all the basics of how to start a herb garden. Our focus will be culinary uses with special emphasis on the herbs to start and use right now, but of course there's much more to herbs: aromatherapy and other uses will be noted, including those that are perfect to bring bees, butterflies, and other pollinators to the garden.
Join NHG's Education and Outreach Coordinator Rusty E. Allen as we discuss the best site and soil selections tailored to specific herbs and the seasonal maintenance for each, whether you decide to grow in containers, raised beds, or the ground.
Our extensive look at these 'useful plants' includes the presentation, a folder with handouts, along with a $10 NHG Gift Certificate at the conclusion of the class. We'll also give you light refreshments plus extra time to get your herbal questions answered in this special, expanded class.
PLUS, you'll get a guided tour of our working herb and vegetable garden to maybe inspire you to go herbal!
