Event Date: May 18, 2019 8:00 AM - May 10, 2019 10:00 AM

An estuary to the Saluda River, 14 Mile Creek serves as Green Space for many homeowners & creates a wonderful riparian habitat for birds & other animal life not commonly seen in residential backyards.

14 Mile Creek Trail is tucked away in suburban Lexington, paralleling Old Cherokee Road and Sunset Blvd. Wander this trail with our wildlife specialist, Zach Steinhauser, who will point out various bird species and discuss habitat, migration patterns, and answer any questions you may have. Catch birds not common to this area as they fly through on their Fall migration North to South.

There is a $15 fee person and you must register in advance. You will receive a coupon for $5.00 to use at Wingard's Market. Children 15 & under free; must be accompanied by a registered adult. BYOB – bring your own binoculars. Meet at the Exxon Station at the corner of Old Cherokee Rd and North Lake Drive in Lexington. Parking for the trail is at the southeast corner of the gas station's parking lot. Dress for the weather, and wear your walking shoes. Be prepared to walk 1.5 miles. You may register on-line or call 803-359-9091.
