  • Welcome to the 2022 Garden.org Photo Contest, sponsored once again for the sixth year in a row by our good friends at Bluestone Perennials and also new this year featuring bonus prizes from Victory Seed Company.

Submit your favorite photos from your collection, and the members of the site will then vote for their favorites. The winning photos from each category will be pitted against each other in one final, epic vote to determine the ultimate Best of Show winners.

Bluestone Perennials has generously provided great prizes for the top 3 winners! The Grand Prize Best of Show winner will receive a $250 gift certificate to their online store. Faints! The second place winner will get a $175 gift certificate, and the third place winner gets a $125 gift certificate. Victory Seed Company will provide gift certificates of $50, $40 and $30 to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Additionally, the 1st place winner of each individual category will receive a Garden.org microbadge commemorating their victory, as well as 50 acorns and the acclaim and admiration of their peers. The Best of Show winner will receive an additional 250 acorns.

The Rules: Limit one prize per member. If the same person wins 1st and 2nd place, then that person only gets the first place prize and the next winner down gets the second prize. Prizes must be shipped to the contiguous US and Alaska.

Photos submitted must be your own creation without significant digital alteration, and must not have been submitted to previous Garden.org photo contests.

After the contest is over, entries submitted may be linked into our database of plants where appropriate. By submitting photos to our contest, you grant us permission to publish and use those photos in accordance with the Garden.org Terms of Service. There is a panel of photo contest moderators (who are not participating in the contest) who will review submissions and disqualify photos from the contest for whatever reason they may deem appropriate.

Bluestone Perennials is a long-time favorite mail-order nursery, famous for their titanic selection and outstanding customer service. Bluestone is a family owned and operated business founded in 1972 by Richard Boonstra and now run by his son, Bill and his wife Sarah. Located close to Lake Erie in Northeast Ohio, Bluestone grows and ships their own plants. The nursery has 5+ acres of greenhouses that are bursting with more than 1,000 varieties of beautiful perennials, shrubs, mums, and ornamental grasses, all grown in plantable earth friendly pots and shipped in earth-friendly fully recyclable packaging . They offer a free catalog and an outstanding website. We are grateful to them for sponsoring this year's contest again with such great prizes!

Victory Seed Company is family owned and operated, passionate about providing the highest quality seed of the best varieties available to home gardeners. They focus on vegetables and also provide a good selection of herbs and flowers. For 25 years they have been primarily involved in the preservation of rare, open-pollinated, non-GMO, heirloom seeds, and that continues to be their primary focus. In addition to the rare heirlooms, they also carry a selection of the newest hybrid (but still non-GMO!) seeds. It takes a lot of time, energy and space to make a vegetable garden and Victory Seed Company can be trusted to provide your family with all the vegetable seeds you need to make this year's garden a success.
