First of all my dried up desiccated Hydrangea that I thought wouldn't live is now throwing up pretty green shoots. Yeah!!! They are both getting watered every day and they are going to be fine.
I had fun working in the garden this morning, moving a few pavers, spreading around some leaf compost, and watering everything that needed it. My tomatoes are getting special attention because I have quite a few plants and 2 of them have lots of green fruit on them.
My flowers are attracting bees and butterflies. The Chaste tree is blooming. The lettuce I let go to seed is full of bloom. I will have hundreds of seeds for the fall and winter garden.
My Sago Palms have put forth all kinds of new fronds.
If I had room to plant corn I would use the Indian style of planting, (Three Sisters) and plant the corn, beans, and squash together. The corn grows and supports the climbing beans, the bean roots give nitrogen to the soil for the corn, and the squash leaves shade the soil and offer a sort of mulch to control the weeds. It's a win-win!
Have faith that we will be wiser and stronger together in the months ahead. Peace & Plenty.
