Plumeria (Frangipani)

Plumeria (Frangipani)
Posted by Charli ( from Malta Europe on 2005-09-15 09:05:00

I live on the island of Malta in the Mediterranean. I have got a Plumeria plant which is about 8 years old but refuses to flower year after year. It is in full sun and in alkaline soil. Are there any tips to make it flower next year? It loses all its leaves in the mild winters that we have here. I have seen lovely plumerias in other peoples gardens in various villages.

I also had the same problem, one plumeria plant gave me so many beautiful flowers but the others were dormant. Are they in pots? if so, it may be time to plant them on ground or a bigger pot. You may want to check on the bottom of the soil, instead of just the top layer. p.s. Mine also loose all their leaves in cold weather so I dont think you have to worry about that.
