can sunflowers be planted in the vegetable garden?

Absolutely! They make a cheerful addition to the vegetable garden and do well in the same soil and sun conditions. There are many colors and sizes to choose from. If you'd like to cut them for indoor bouquets, look for a pollenless sunflower, so it doesn't drop so much pollen "dust". Enjoy!
