I transplanted a 4 year old Brown Turkey Fig Tree in early spring. It has never leafed out - just bare branches. Is it possible the roots are alive and next season it will grow again?

It is possible your fig tree is just slow to leaf out so I wouldn't give up on it just yet. If the branches are pliable and do not look wrinkled or shriveled, it's probably just taking its time leafing out. You can try pruning lightly - that might prompt some new growth. Hope you see green leaves soon!
