I have quite a few Knock Out Roses and they are getting really bushy, can I trim them back?

You can safely trim them back each spring by reducing them by one third to one half and you can trim lightly during the summer months. I'd go ahead and shear them lightly now and do the major pruning in the fall or early spring when the weather is a little cooler (they'll respond more quickly to pruning when they aren't heat stressed).
