rhododendrum dying - Knowledgebase Question

we planted one in front yard last AUG. GREW TILL 6 WKS. ago i used orchid acid fert. We have had a lot of rain and it seems to be dying, wilting up, not turning brown, is it dead?

The orchid fertilizer has nothing in it to harm your rhododendron so I think the wilting foliage is due to a water stress issue rather than the fertilizer you applied ? unless you really over-applied and burned the roots of the plant. When you water, water deeply so as to thoroughly wet the soil, then wait 5-7 days before watering again. You want the soil moist but not soggy wet. I hope your rhodie recovers soon!
