|I am transplanting two sago palms out of my backyard. i did not realize how deadly they can be to pets. What are some pet-friendly, shade-loving plants that can take their place. I live in zone 8.

|The sago palms will only cause problems if your pets actually eat them. You can place temporary barriers around the plants if you?re concerned they will become targets while they are small. If you?d rather not plant them at all you can plant any of the shrubs listed on the ASPCA website that are listed as safe for pets. (www.aspca.com) Best wishes with your new plants.
