University of Florida Extension provides excellent plant lists. Here's a link to one with native plants, which are a good choice because they're adapted to the heat and sun, and less likely to be stressed. Stressed plants are targeted for attack by pests and diseases, so natives help reduce maintenance time and costs. Good luck with your berm!
