How can I control grasshoppers and caddydids that won't hurt my pets?

Try a biological weapon called Nosema locustae. It is safe for animals, people, plants and other insects, but kills most species of grasshoppers by infecting them with a parasitic protozoa. Grasshoppers will spread the disease among themselves. It is sold as Nolo Bait. Good luck!
