Too Much Water on Vegetables in Pots - Knowledgebase Question

I had some tomato and pepper plants that had been sitting in pots that filled up with water aand they are wilted. I drained the water yesterday they were still wilted today. Will they come back?

I apologize for the delay in responding. We were flooded with questions and are working to catch up! Plant roots need oxygen to thrive, and if they sat in wet soil for too long, they may have rotted. If the soil was totally saturated, and won't dry out because of weather conditions, you might try transplanting into fresh soil. Otherwise, it's basically a wait and see game and you'll know fairly soon if the plants are going to die or not. Good luck!
