|we planted a cherry fruit tree spring 2010, to replace one we had chopped down, a couple months after the leaves came off & now it looks like dark twigs has it gone dormant?dead?or tangled in roots of previous tree?

|Your new tree should have flowered and then leafed out in very early spring. If it didin't, and the twigs are dark and wrinkled, the tree is dead. I'm not sure why it died but it's possible there's not enough room for root growth if it has to compete with the roots of your previous tree. Wish I had better news for you!
