My husband and I disagree on changing the soil in our houseplants. I change the soil every so often, not a lot though. I also ferlize the plants too. My husband says we shouldn't have to change the soil but just keep adding fertlizer to the plants. Do I need to change the soil?

Potting soil can become compacted and sour after a few years so I tend to change the soil in my houseplants every 3 or 4 years. I think the plants appreciate having fresh soil. The choice is yours!
