I saw in a magazine a container garden that I wanted to duplicate. The plants included are Austrialian sword fern, Rustic Orange Coleus, Margarita sweet potato vine, and Patriot Classic Dessert sunset Lantana- all require shade - partial shade except lantana, which needs full sun. Is this possible to maintain these plants together in one pot?

You should be able to keep all the plants you mentioned reasonably happy in one pot if you keep it in a lightly shaded pot. While the lantana and sweet potato vine will thrive in full sun, they will also do well in light shade, as will the coleus- the lantana just may not have quite as many blossoms as if it were in full sun. The sword fern does need light shade to thrive and is not as adaptable to full sun. Suitable spots for the pot would be in the dappled shade from nearby trees or a spot that gets only morning sun.
