What is available to eliminate nutgrasses and bermuda from a St. Augustine lawn beside raising the mower height?

There are herbicides available that will kill nutgrass in lawns. Examples are MSMA, the active ingredient in a number of products, and the brand-name products Sledgehammer and Nutgrass 'Nihilator. These are all post-emergent herbicides that kill the nutgrass when it is actively growing. However, there are no herbicides that will selectively kill bermuda and not your St Augustine grass. Mowing high is your best plant of action here. When using a pesticide, read and follow all label instuctions and precautions.
