red yucca not blooming - Knowledgebase Question

My red yuccas were blooming when I bought them over 10 years ago & have not bloomed since. They are planted against a brick wall (last 3 years) on a slope in alkaline soil & get alot of sun.

Sounds like the planting site is just right. Too much water can keep them from blooming and so can nitrogen ferilizer. Treat them the way you'd treat cactus - water deeply only once every 10-14 days during the summer months and don't feed them at all. I hope this forces them to bloom for you.
