What do I do to it to plant it in the yard? Also where is the best place to keep a staghorn fern? |
Plant amaryllis bulbs in your landscape between September and January in a lightly shaded spot with well-drained soil. Dig in a 3-4" layer of compost and a slow-release organic fertilizer before planting. Plant bulbs 12-15" apart with the necks of the bulbs protruding above the ground. Spread a 2" layer of mulch to keep down weeds and conserve water. Keep the soil moist but not soggy as the plants are getting established. Staghorn ferns do best in a lightly shaded spot, such as in the dappled light under high shade trees or in bright indirect light on a covered porch. |
