Every year the same thing happens to a grouping of daisies in my front yard. They bloom and last 2-3 weeks and then the blooms fade and disappear. Aren't these blooms supposed to last longer? I thought that deadheading was the answer but all I get are leftover green stems. Can you explain?

You're right, Shasta daisies should bloom all summer long. If they don't, they may not be getting enough sunshine or they need to be fed. When the flowers fade, cut the flower stem down to foliage level. New flowering stems will emerge in a week or two. Hope yours flower better for you later this summer.
