My 3 Rose Jatropha trees are nearly leafless & blooming scantily. Could a partial reason be that grass is growing right up to the trunks? Is this also bad for citrus trees?

Sorry to hear this. Typically Jatropha is very easy to take care of, it requires well-drained soil, very little water and a sunny to filtered light location. I would check your soil conditions to make sure the plants are not sitting in consistent saturated soil. If so, this may be the problem because the plant prefers well-drained soil conditions. And yes, Same goes for Citrus trees. Good luck with your garden!
