Recently had sod worms in my lawn. Pest company treated same. My vincas are dying and I see webs on them. How do I treat? |
Sod web worms feed on grass roots but generally don't bother vinca. If you are seeing tiny webs on the stems where they meet the leaves, the problem is spidermites. These tiny little pests feed on the fluids within the tissues of the leaves and cause a stippling of the leaves. They love dry, dusty places and you can discourage them from living in your vinca if you regularly hose the plants off with plain water being sure to rinse the undersides of the leaves and the stems, too. Or, you can spray a miticide on your vinca to kill the spidermites. |
