Bel Air, Ma
how can I keep squirels from digging in my outdoor potted plants. I use Miracle Grow moisture control potting soil and I think they LOVE IT! |

Maybe they do love the potting soil but I think they are really just exploring to see what's down there. About the only way to discourage them is to put a physical barrier over the potting soil. You can make circles of hardware cloth or chicken wire to put in the pots. You'll have to cut out a portion so you can slide it over the stems of your plants. You might also lay some crumpled chicken wire along the ground in front of your pots. Squirrels don't like to walk on it because they're afraid they'll get their legs stuck. Hope it works for you. |
