Planting Arborvities - Knowledgebase Question

I recently bought around 20 12 inch tall arborvities and about 1/2 of them died within a couple of weeks, i have planted many of them before and they didn't die, what do you think the problem could be, i water them

Its hard to tell without inspecting the trees and the site conditions; It could be the result of over-watering OR saturated soil conditions. The Arborvitae shrub is pretty resilient except for poor soil conditions. The roots need air as much as they do water and if the soil is either too compact or over-saturated it would suffocate the roots from this much needed airflow and decline the health of your plant.
