What kind of fertilizer should I use to get iris to bloom. The leaves are huge but no blooms. Also there is a lot of shade but inthe past I have had iris bloom in simular shade. Thanks, Bob Girling

You can use a bloom booster (higher middle number fertilizer) to encourage flowering. For best performance, Iris beds should be dug and divided when the plants become overcrowded. The first indication that the clumps are overcrowded is failure to bloom. Iris grow best in full sunshine, in rich, moist soil.
