You can lightly prune the juniper in spring before active growth begins. Remove dead and damaged branches, and shear both to shape. Don't overdo it though - I've seen shrubs that were tortuously clipped back to very mature wood that took a long time to grow back and look decent. A little trim to keep them neat should be all you need. Hope this helps and good luck!
