|Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) is a perennial, broadleaf weed with leaves extending laterally from a single vertical shoot. Prevent the appearance of this weed with routine mowing. Milkweed is found on unmaintained lawn areas and prefers direct sunlight and well-drained soils. If it continues to be a problem you may want to suffocate the base of the plant with something / anything at the ground surface; but is certainly hard to get rid of. Hope this helps and good luck with your yard.
