What is the easiest and longest lasting way to prevent weeds in a mulched bed, with no flowers?

You can use a pre emergent such as Preen to prevent weed seeds from sprouting. For now, pull the weeds or kill them off with a product such as Round Up. The apply the pre emergent and the bed will remain weed free for most of the growing season. Reapply according to label directions. Best wishes with your landscape!
