I have a flower bed in which bedding plants continue to die. I have tried many different types of plants. They do OK for a while, then wilt and die. I live in New Orleans. Any ideas?

I'm not sure - does the soil drain well? If not, try amending the soil with lots of compost to help it drain well before planting again. When the plants are in the ground water them deeply once a week (twice if the weather is hot). Deep watering will encourage the roots to grow deep down into the cooler soil. Be sure to select plants that will grow in the sun exposure or shady conditions the bed provides. Hope these tips help.
