We live in Hot Florida on the Space Coast. We have a septic in the front yard and I'm afraid of planting trees that the root system might penetrate. What kind of flowering and non-flowering trees could I plant? |
Trees are not a good choice near septic tanks or drain fields. Most have roots that will seek out water and you don't want to go through the expensive of having your system repaired or replaced. I'd grow "patio" trees. These are natural dwarfs that won't get much taller than 6-8 feet. Check your local garden center for patio trees such as dwarf weeping cherry or dwarf weeping pussy willow. Good luck with your landscape. |
