I have planted a number of day lilies that were peach or tangerine bright colors the first season. Now they are all a dark fleh color. Is the soil missing a nutrient

It sounds like your daylilies have reverted back to their natural colors. This happens sometimes when the hybrids are damaged from winter weather and they die off but the hardier plants survive. Eventually they can take over the weaker hybrids. You can't make them change color back to what they were. If you don't like the purple flowering kinds, pull them out and replace them with the peach or tangerine hybrids.
