Removing the spent flowers as soon as they fade is the best way to keep your plants blooming all summer long. If you leave the flowers on the plant they will develop seeds which takes lots of plant energy. Deadheading the spent flowers will stop seed production and redirect the plant's energy into developing more flowers. enjoy!
