I realize it's early to be questioning this, but do you have to cut back perennials, such as coreopsis, daisies, etc for winter during the fall?

Sounds like you're planning ahead! When frost nips the plants and they die down you can prune off all the dead plant material and mulch over the tops of the plants. Enjoy your garden!
