A large portion of my back yard has a 4 to 6 inch water table. I live in Hilo, HI., annual rain fall exceeds 100

There are some plants that will grow in soggy soils but if there's something special you'd like to grow you can build raised beds or mounds of soil (like islands) and plant them up high.
