Trim end of branches? - Knowledgebase Question

We have a pink dogwood, maple trees that have no leaves on end of the branches. No they have not been eaten off, because we have them protected with fences. Should they be trimmed down to where there are leaves on the branches? Thanks so much for this service!! Norma

Yes, I'd prune off the dead branch tips (they're dead anyway and the tree will eventually drop them). You can prune back to a set of leaves. I wonder if they are the result of winter damage? Whatever the reason, pruning them off will make your trees look much more attractive. Enjoy your garden!
