|I just bought a Dwarf Apple Winesap tree (malus domestica) today from Home Depot. We bought only one and we were wondering if this tree is self-pollinating or if it needs another tree along side it to produce fruit?? Thanks! -Bethany

|Winesap apple is included in the list of self-pollinating apples so your tree should produce apples if planted alone in your landscape. However, all apple trees will produce heavier crops if they are cross pollinated. If no one in your neighborhood has an apple tree in their yard you might want to plant a second variety of apple.
