We have a small garden and we apparently have spider mites. What can we use in a vegetable/herb garden to get rid of these pests?

Insecticidal soap will take care of the spider mites. You can also discourage them by hosing off your plants with a strong stream of water from the hose. Spider mites like dry, dusty places. Directing a spray of water on the undersides of the leaves and the innermost stems will discourage the pests. Do this every few days for a couple of weeks and I think they'll move on to drier places. Good luck with your garden.
