my hugh stargazer lily took a beating from a recent storm--many stems have come out with parts of the bulb attached also I can see alot of bulbs protruding from the ground. I wanted to divide this plant in the spring anyway- its 4 yrs old. What do I do with the bulbs all the way out of the ground? What should I do with the many bulbs already above the ground? Thanks so much-Iam still a new gardene |
Now that your lilies have begun to grow this season, I'd leave them alone and divide them in the late fall or early next spring. Just cover over the exposed bulbs with some compost or garden soil to keep them from getting sunburned this summer. Best wishes with your lilies! |
